In the Herero language, the word “ohange” means “peace” and this is exactly what you can expect to find at Ohange Lodge. Situated close to Otavi, en route to Tsumeb, the lodge is the perfect stopover to or from Etosha National Park. Nestled beneath towering Marula and Tamboti trees, with views of stunning, tranquil landscapes, this destination offers the ideal setting to unwind for a few days, enveloped in a serene atmosphere of complete stillness.
The main complex includes the reception, dining room, bar, and other amenities, adding to the cozy main building. The veranda and adjacent campfire area serve as dining spots for most of the. The waterhole at Ohange is one of the main attractions, offering exciting game viewing opportunities up close and personal.

2 x Campsite
Nestled under towering old trees, near an old German stableblock. One campsite is exclusive, sharing kitchen and ablution facilities with astable room, and the second campsite is located next to a wildlife migration route.
Activities
Scenic Game Drive
Join the late afternoon guided game drive. This drive offers excellent opportunities to spot a variety of game, including zebra, giraffe, wildebeest and even eland! The guide will explain how this ecosystem works, and ensure an unforgettable experience.
Guided Morning Walk
If you enjoy taking things at a slower pace, this provides an excellent opportunity to explore the remarkable variety of bird species while immersing yourself in the tranquil atmosphere of the early morning when the air is crisp and refreshing.
Guided Walks: (AM, Sundowner or self-guided)
The bush takes on a different perspective on foot. You can choose between joining on a guided morning or sundowner bumble in the bush, or explore one of the self-guided walking trails on the private reserve.
Night Drive
After dinner we venture out to search for the treasures of the night – bushbabies, porcupines, genets, owls, and nightjars. With some luck we might even encounter a free-roaming leopard!
Driving Instructions
Situated in the Otavi Mountains on the tarred B1 Main highway, approximately 28km north of Otavi and 30km south of Tsumeb.
From Windhoek: take the B1 towards Tsumeb, pass through Otavi, travel for another 30km. Then turn right at the main gate, venture on for another 3km and you have reached Ohange.
From Rundu / Zambezi: follow the B8 south-west towards Grootfontein. Then connect to the C42 heading to Tsumeb. From there you travel towards Otavi for another 28 km, and you have reached the main gate, venture on for another 3km and you have reached Ohange.
Note: The gateway to Ohange Namibia Lodge is on the eastern side of the B1 and the beautiful 3km drive from there to the lodge is good enough for both sedan and 4×4 vehicles.
